Ebong ***** is a medical doctor who presently operates as an Independent Consultant in Health Systems. He specializes in health systems development, has been a senior manager and leader in the health systems and has over 24 years experience both locally and internationally in health systems management and development. He has a proven track record in project and programme management, strategic and operational planning, district and regional health and social services management and leadership, curriculum development, training and facilitation. He was team leader in the development of strategic and operational plans for health and social services in Kunene Region. He has designed, organized and facilitated many health programmes especially in strengthening essential community health and PHC programmes in Namibia. His technical expertise has contributed to improving quality of care in health and social services in Namibia. He has made significant contributions in the development of several guidelines and policies to guide implementation of health programmes including management of human, financial and material resources. He provided leadership to a Regional Health Management Team as well as technical leadership of Regional HIV/AIDS/TB control programme resulting in setting up, monitoring and evaluating prevention, care and support of the programmes for more than 10 years. He has overseen and provided technical support to many donor funded programmes in Namibia including WHO, UNICEF, GTZ and Management Sciences for Health and International Training and Education Centre in Health, and provided satisfactory progress reports to the donors. He also specializes in personal development and mentors a number of postgraduate students pursuing public health, nursing and health management studies. He is experienced in financial and logistics management and management of human resources for health as well as quality improvement initiatives in health and social care.
