Alejandro Garcia Monterde is a financial and operational banking risk leader with broad international experience specializing in retail and corporate portfolio risk management in North America, Latin America, Western and Eastern Europe.

He is currently working for BearingPoint Management Consultants as the Head of CEE Risk Management.

Prior to that he worked for Capgemini Consulting Osterreich where he leveraged his extensive experience in Risk management within the CEE. At Raiffeisen Bank International's SME Risk Team between 2007 and 2010 he was directly responsible for overseeing and contributing to the development of the individual SME retail risk portfolios of Raiffeisen International’s subsidiary network banks in the CEE and CIS. More specifically he has focused his expertise within the SME areas of product development, streamlining credit granting processes, collateral evaluation techniques, formulating credit policy, x-selling and portfolio performance monitoring.

He has worked in the risk management field for over 22 years of SME-linked experience in the North & Latin American markets with Canadian banks such as Central Guaranty Trust (now Toronto Dominion Bank), National Trust Mortgage (now Scotiabank) and, prior to joining Raiffeisen, with Gibraltar Consolidated Equity & Investments, a Canadian based international private equity/venture capital firm focused on providing innovative financing structures to SME businesses within North America and Western Europe.

During 1995 and 2007 while working with Gibraltar Consolidated, he has focused mainly on the development, execution and monitoring of credit, operational and market risk strategies for the newly acquired venture capital accounts and various M&A activities for both Gibraltar Consolidated Equity & Investments and many of its clients.

He frequently addresses professional associations and conferences in the fields of commercial & investment banking, public policy, and risk management.
