Description

MaRRS (Market Risk Reporting System) project intends to redesign the current risk monitoring process at TD Securities and build a common platform for use by the analyst working at the Global Middle Office (GMO) performing Market Risk Monitoring (MRM) function. The functional objective is to eliminate existing standard spreadsheet applications that support risk monitoring and to replace them with a single consolidated system that provides consistent look and feel for all users.

Responsibilities

As a team member, is responsible for:

• Planning, Implementing DB2 V9 server and client installations on Linux
• Administering databases for Development.
• Creating, modifying, maintaining instances, databases, database objects in DB2 UDB.
• Backup and Recovery Procedures planning and implementation.
• Monitoring DB2 UDB databases for space utilization, number of connections, logs
allocated, CPU utilization, etc.
• Tuning servers for optimal performance (at both Database and OS level).
• Analyzing and implementing DB2 reorg/runstats utility based on the need for database
reorganization.

Description

Airtel comes from Bharti Airtel Limited, ***** ’s largest integrated and the first private telecom services provider with a footprint in all the 23 telecom circles.

Bharti Airtel and IBM have signed one of the largest IT services agreements in ***** . IBM will provide IT services, software, and hardware to Bharti, as well as consolidate data center assets and help desks, and boost data recovery capabilities.

The DB2 DBA Team being an important part of data center is handling more than 1103 databases across 700 servers mostly on AIX, among which 250 servers are in production environment and

rest are either development or testing servers. BI and RAS are the two largest applications in Multi-Partition Environment containing 165 and 140 nodes respectively.

Responsibilities

As a team member, is responsible for:

• Planning, Implementing DB2 V8, V9 server and client installations on AIX, Linux and Windows.
• Upgrading to latest Fixpak. Implemented for FP 14, 5, 6, 7, 8 for V8 and FP 8 for V9.
• Migrating instance from V8 to V9, both side by side and inplace migration.
• Administering databases for Production, Testing & Development.
• Creating, modifying, maintaining instances, databases, database objects in DB2 UDB.
• Moving data with utilities export, import, load.
• Backup and Recovery Procedures planning and implementation.
• Implementing HACMP, HADR.
• Monitoring DB2 UDB databases for space utilization, number of connections, logs allocated, CPU utilization, etc.
• Ensuring security compliance on all the servers by restraining authorizations, privileges & authorities and configuring instance & database parameters.
• Configuring audit on all the servers.
• Tuning servers for optimal performance.
• Analyzing and implementing DB2 reorg/runstats utility based on the need for database reorganization.
