• Led the Operations technical and commercial meetings with the wind farm operator that succeeded in improving the monthly report statistics, documenting the maintenance issues and the status of the solutions and drove documentation of warranty claims.
• Technology evaluation and site due diligence for the power development team on three potential wind farm projects in Chile, Argentina and China and developed the technical proposals including selection of wind turbine manufacturers.
• Led the investigation of technical issues at gas turbine plant in Pakistan to resolve compressor surging issues and facilitated the root cause analysis that solved the issue together with selected balance of plant improvement projects.
• Investigated a steam turbine failure at a diesel plant in Jamaica. Worked with the plant, insurance company and steam turbine manufacturer to optimize the parts manufacturing process to minimize business interruption and property damage claims which saved 3 months on the parts delivery schedule and over $1 million in business interruption and $500,000 in machinery breakdown costs.
• Corrected the design of a water treatment plant upgrade at a plant due to significant changes in the source water analysis and presented the technical evaluation to the Stakeholders which were approved.
• Managed the technical resolution and repair of a gas turbine at a non OEM facility and initiated, reviewed and approved the independent 3rd party root cause analysis and installed the modifications to mitigate further issues during the repairs.
• Issued technical proposals and led negotiations on LTSAs with OEMs and non OEMs on two gas turbine projects and visited the repair facilities and selected the best overall economic service package valued at $50 million dollars and $60 million dollars respectively.
• Reviewed and commented as the Owner’s engineer the EPC contractor engineering equipment design specifications and system drawings for 7FA combined cycle power plant under construction with the goal to ensure plant operational flexibility and reliability within budget restraints.
• Supported the annual plant Insurance company audits with the auditor to ensure the risk assessment and ranking was favorable to minimize insurance premiums.
• Managed and trained key plant personnel approximately 30 people on the implementation of new corporate software project valued at approximately $500,000 for reporting and collecting key operating plant performance indicators and for tracking and completing audit action items.

GREEN EARTH FUELS LLC, Houston, Texas *****
Director of Operations Biodiesel Facility
• Set up the operating company, hired the staff and was Owner’s Project Manager during plant construction in two phases of a 90 million gallon/year biodiesel facility valued at approximately $60 million, completed on schedule and within budget and developed monthly operating reports to Stakeholders.
• The Plant Manager when the biodiesel Plant was in commercial operation making the biodiesel sales commitments of approximately 70 million gallons per year on schedule and in specification.
• Directed the pilot testing and then prioritized the design changes to meet the new biodiesel cold flow specifications deadline in 2009 which was accomplished ahead of schedule within budget.
• Optimized the temperature of the reaction and reduced the catalyst usage by 30% and overall decreased the production costs by 5 cents/gallon to increase the profitability of the biodiesel facility.
• Modified the design of the retreat system to reduce biodiesel losses by up to 3%.

Projects
• Technical due diligence of three power plants in Texas for Nu Coastal, wrote technical evaluation report for the Commercial Team recommended their purchase at 15% off the asking prices which was accomplished.
• Evaluated the feasibility to move a simple cycle power plant from Mississippi to Texas for Suez Energy generation, NA including physical inspection of all the equipment including borescope inspection and completed a schedule, budgetary estimate and technical report to commercial management.
• Selection of two gas engines for a landfill gas plant for SCC Americas valued at approximately $2 million.

Director of Operations/Project/Asset Management in Central, South and North America and Asia
• Directed Operations & Maintenance, operating budgets, capital projects and plant outages in Central America, South & North America and Asia over the 12 year period and reported to the Stakeholders.
• Progressively reduced operational costs by 25% but improved reliability and availability above the industry standards for the particular type of power plant which were gas turbine simple and combined cycle, diesel engine, conventional boilers, hydro and coal plants.
• Owner’s Development Engineer and Project Manager for Power Plants built in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Guatemala, United States and Bangladesh that were built within budget in the range $100 million to $750 million dollar projects and on schedule, aggressively solved issues as they arose.
• Directed root cause analysis of diesel plant engine block failures and prioritized utilization of most cost effective project solution that saved over $1.5 million and three months of downtime compared to replacing the engine block. Engine is still in service 10 years later.
• Championed best practice guidelines for standardizing the qualification and training of approximately 350 power plant operators, which was successfully implemented for three diesel plants in Central America.
• Standardized and developed the predictive & preventative maintenance guidelines for all the power plants, focused on critical generating equipment which reduced equipment failures and expensive downtimes.
• Spearheaded Best Practice review team audits for betterment of Environmental, Health, Safety & Operating standards and the results were dramatic reduction in all incidents, 90% of the plants achieved perfect EH & S records.
• As the Asset Manager negotiated partnerships for commodities, parts and services contracts for domestic and international facilities, including plant outages and overhauls that saved over $3 million for Plants in the US and saved 40% on diesel engine parts costs overseas.
• Investigated and resolved gas turbine failures in Peru at Stakeholders’ request and improved reliability to over 98% and successfully renegotiated the maintenance contracts to save a further 30%.
• Led total of fifteen technical due diligence teams and presented recommendations and action items during selection of Greenfield project development sites and evaluated the actual return on investment for acquisitions compared to the proforma financial evaluation.
• Technically and as Asset manager supported the commercial teams to maximize value of each asset sale during divestiture of generating assets.
