Dr. Bouzid ***** is a senior scientist, R&D consultant and research visiting professor in nanotechnology and biotechnology. He is a multi and interdisciplinary research scientist with expertise on the development of new materials in various fields for applications in heterogeneous catalysis, optics, photonics, and biotechnology. He obtained his Master Degree in Organic Chemistry at the University of Rouen (France) in Organic Chemistry with the finality to develop biomolecules. He obtained his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry in UK where he developed and studied the properties of new organic-inorganic hybrid crystalline materials such as metal-organic frameworks for applications as selective sorbents and heterogeneous catalysis. He joined thereafter the Laboratory of Inorganic and Photonics Materials at Kyoto University (Japan) to carry several projects on polymeric and sol-gel-derived organic-inorganic hybrid glass films and phosphate glasses for integrated optics and photonic applications. Following his research on glass and ceramic materials, he developed at San Jose (CA, USA), new transparent nanoporous sol-gel glasses in order to study the proteins conformation and biological activity of encapsulated and adsorbed proteins in crowded and hydrophobic environment. As scientific collaborator and FNRS research fellow (Liege, Belgium), he is involved on research projects employing Atomic Force Microscopy and single molecule force spectroscopy as a tool for molecular recognition and the development of biosensors. He is currently collaborating with ***** , ***** (specialised in Fluoro-Raman spectroscopy) as program director in nanotechnology and developing C-F detection tools (biomarkers) for medical applications (diagnostics, theranostic, oncology). He developed academic and industrial collaborations worldwide in various fields of biotechnology. He is the author of several peer-reviewed publications in these multi and inter-disciplinary fields: articles, reviews, book chapters, patents, world congresses and conference proceedings (for which he acted as conference chair for some of them). He is currently member of several scientific societies and commissions for which he acts as expert evaluator. He is an active referee and editorial member of several scientific journals.
