Expert Profile
David ***** has over 25 years of experience in the electrical industry. His career has spanned several segments of the industry including commercial lighting, electrical distribution equipment, electric utility, electrical ***** generation and renewable energy.
After attending the University of Wisconsin School of Engineering, David started his career with BBC Lighting & Supply in Milwaukee. As the sales manager David helped build the company into a major lighting supplier to corporations, building management firms and industrial and commercial accounts.
After a brief hiatus with a major manufacturer of outdoor ***** equipment, David joined the Cutler-Hammer division of Eaton Corporation as a sales engineer. Products such as circuit breakers, panel boards and switchboards were just a few of the product lines for which Mr. ***** was responsible.
It was an easy transition from Cutler-Hammer to WE Energies ***** Now department. In his role as Senior Sales Engineer, Commercial Distributed Generation, David promoted the use of back-up generators for WE Energies commercial, industrial and institutional customers. Energy management programs were included in his responsibilities; assisting customers by developing peak shaving, time-of-use and other programs for their facilities to reduce their overall cost of electricity.
With a fairly diverse background in the industry David’s career turned to the start-up and management of an electrical generator department for Pieper Electric, Milwaukee. Within the first year David secured an order from a large factory for an electrical generator system to back-up 100% of their electrical loads. Soon within his role as the department head David was introducing renewable energy systems as a value added service. The first major project for renewable energy was a bio-digester plant for producing methane. The methane produced by cow manure fueled a generator set to ***** the farm and sell electricity to the utility.
David’s entrepreneurial spirit now took him in a new direction; his own business. PEER Group, LLC was formed ( ***** & Electrical Energy Resources) to give his clients professionally engineered back-up ***** systems that could include generators, battery banks, inverters, ***** quality filters and metering. Soon after opening the new business David was off to Golden Colorado by invitation of the engineering staff at the National Renewable Energy Laboratories (NREL) for a 4-day wind ***** symposium and seminar. That seminar inspired Mr. ***** to attend a small wind ***** 'siting' school given by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association just a few months later.
