I am a public health specialist with over 12 years of field and headquarters experience in HIV/AIDS prevention care and support services in a variety of countries as well as 6 years of experience in maternal child health in Latin America. I have a Master’s in Public Health from the University of California in Berkeley and a primary medicine certificate and associate degree as a Physician Assistant (equivalent to nurse practitioner) from Stanford University.

From 1996 to late 1999, I opened a new office and served as country representative for Project Concern in Zambia. I then served as Chief of Party for the USAID HIV/AIDS care and mitigation portfolio. I also worked for Save The Children as the Africa regional representative. Other work in HIV/AIDS includes a long term consultancy for Care to evaluate their livelihood support and HIV services during the drought of 2002 in Southern Africa and to develop a regional strategic plan for the organization. Prior to coming to Africa, I served as the Guatemalan Country Director for Project Concern working within the zones most affected by the civil war, managing a maternal and reproductive health program in the Mayan Highlands. Before beginning international work, I worked for 7 years as clinical facility at Stanford University School of Medicine. I have a track record of effective management of diverse teams in a wide variety of settings and have worked in several representational positions in challenging circumstance
