Don Zowader, of DZ Consults was with Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America as manager of Government Affairs. He was been responsible for state Medicaid Programs and state legislation, primarily in the Eastern United States. In addition, he is responsible for other state (ie. State Pharmacy Assistance Programs) and Federal programs. Mr. Zowader has been in the pharmaceutical industry for over 30 years in sales and management roles.
He started in sales with Hoechst-Roussel Pharmaceuticals in 1974 and helped the company through growth, change and mergers during his years there,- with the company subsequently becoming Hoechst Marion Roussel and Aventis (today Sanofi-Aventis). During that time he held various positions in field sales & sales management. Mr. Zowader was responsible for Hospital Buying Groups, Sales to the Federal Government, Federal Lobbying, as well as State Government Affairs. He left Aventis in 2002 and very shortly thereafter was employed with Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America. With Takeda, he coordinated the field sales group and the managed care groups to successfully gain placement for Takeda’s products in Medicaid as well as State Pharmacy Assistance programs. He also tracked and monitored important state legislation and as well as Federal trends.
