Dr. Emeka I. ***** is a microbiologist with several years of research experience in vaccinology, infectious diseases and tumour biology. He has a Ph. D in human biology from the University of München, Germany, where he developed oral vaccination schemes for T-cells priming against heterologous antigens in murine model of infection. He continued his career at the CDC, Atlanta as a fellow of the American Society for Microbiology working on necrotizing fasciitis and streptococci genetics. After his fellowship programme, he returned to Germany to work as a research scientist at the institute of cell biology and tumour research, University of Essen, where his research was focused on the role of the growth factor independent protein (Gfi1) in the development and functions of B lymphocytes. Before joining Biocrates Life Sciences as a Biochemist in the Biomarker Department, he worked as a group leader in the department of pathobiochemistry, University of Frankfurt Medical Hospital, where his research was focused on: (1), the role of HIF1α / hypoxia in immune evasion; (2), the identification of molecular markers for kidney injuries caused by hypoxia, reperfusion and inflammation using microarray, NRO and proteomics.
