- To identify optimal profile for future assets in early development (preclinical/PhI/PhII). Goal is to fulfil the identified needs of Patients, Prescribers, Public Health, Payers and our company assets’ portfolio while demonstrating competitive advantage vs our competitors
Deployment:
- Set up of a working network throughout our global organization for early projects (R&D, Clinic, Regulatory, Epidemiology, Health-Economy, Marketing/Commercial, Legal Affairs, Medical Affairs, Competitive intelligence, Business Development)
- To understand: pathogenesis / disease science, natural history of the disease, medical needs, economic needs, impact on quality of life of the patient
- Studies’ planning : Health economy, epidemiology, medical, market research (Public Health Authorities and Payers), competitive intelligence (secondary and primary search) – accomplished through Gap Analysis and CI Workshops
- Key External Experts interviews (medical/science and Health-economy), (supra)National epidemiology agencies (including CDC & ECDC) and, (supra)National Regulatory Authorities
- Disease approach strategy consolidation throughout the entire organization (major SBUs)
Results:
- Adjustments of a Target Product Profile of an early asset (formulation, target populations, target indications, efficacy endpoints and threshold have been revisited and validated by top management) to optimize launch success in the future.
-Adjustments of strategic approach of an early asset for optimizing differentiation and thereby launch success of the future asset (endorsed by top management).
- Development of Competitive Intelligence process including CI portals on electronic platform.
- Clinical development plan of 2 early assets have been adjusted (endpoints and target population(s) to secure demonstration of the asset value to authorities and to sustain competitivity).
- Initiation of a new early project based on identified medical and economic needs.
