Expert Profile
I'm Graeme ***** and I'm an experienced Troubleshooter and Problem Solver, I support businesses of all types, shape and size, by helping them to overcome the obstacles that are preventing them from getting to the next level. I can deliver revenue growth, reduce costs, improve operational productivity, increase profitability, help plan for the future, raise finance, deal with difficult staff and assist with everyday problems.
As operational as I am strategic, I arrive totally free from any preconceived beliefs or ‘internal baggage’, in an advisory and supportive capacity as a consultant or non executive director, or closely involved and directly accountable as an interim executive.
I have for the last 11 years had mainly turnaround, restructuring or troubleshooting positions in a Senior Operations or Head of Projects role - reorganising teams, processes and structures, planning and implementing strategies and procedures, controlling costs and delivering success.
A lifelong member of Mensa, my intellect, skills, and experience mean I quickly assimilate data - reading situations and people accurately, seeing the bigger picture and moving swiftly to take the right decisions, as well as placing all the players in the correct positions so as to achieve positive results.
Customer focused, creative and inventive, I am a strong character and lead from the front - an experienced stakeholder manager and team player, I often find ‘quick fixes’ as well as lasting solutions that others miss.
Originally from a trade / retail background, growing up in the family business in North East Scotland and serving an electrical and Radio/TV apprenticeship, I then spent three years working in the North Sea Oil Industry - two years onshore, in the manufacture of Hyperbaric Diving Systems, Miniature Submarines, and Unmanned Submersibles (ROVs) for Seaforth Maritime Plc - then one year offshore, during the installation, fit-out, and commissioning of the “Thistle Alpha” oil platform, for Constructors John Brown.
For the next 25 years I started, acquired, and built my own businesses - firstly, 13 years in engineering, including fabrication, manufacturing and distribution, building up a small but successful £2m group of companies, only to lose everything to receivership during the 1989/90 oil crisis.
Then, a further 12 years in construction, building refurbishment, and property maintenance, with a substantial number of “blue chip” household name customers, specialising in environmentally friendly and energy efficient heating, lighting, ventilation, and air-conditioning.
A large bad debt in early 2000 forced me to close the businesses and relocate to London, to concentrate on management consultancy and interim management.
Having experienced both success and failure, I am a stronger and better balanced person, a more accomplished and competent manager as a result - I have made all the mistakes, heard all the excuses, seen all the agendas, and met all the players several times over.

M.I.M.A., Teabag Talent, Synatus
I am best suited to roles of a “hands on” nature, where strong and decisive leadership is essential, coupled with an understanding of both strategic and operational requirements, as well as complex client needs.
I am first and foremost a businessman with a lifetime of knowledge - there is no company, authority, or organisation, large or small, that wouldn’t benefit in some way from hiring me and my unique approach.
