Head of State Forest Department. Responsible for the management of state forests covering about 2 million hectares of forests, Wildlife Management and Integrated Watershed Development. Forest planning and development, watershed management; policy analysis and development, advising the Minister for Forests and the State Government on natural resource policies.
Reviewed state forest sector and prepared a report with strategy and action a plan for managing forests.
Initiated reform in public forestry institutions in areas of policy, legislation and organization. Prepared a project to push reforms and capacity building in forestry sector.

Senior Forestry Specialist: The World Bank, New Delhi Office. As a technical specialist served as a task manager for preparation and supervision of Kerala Forestry and Andhra Pradesh Community Forest Management Projects. Participated as a key expert on identification, preparation, appraisal, supervision tasks and sector work; addressed technical issues which were critical to the completion of the assignment. Carried out a study on India’s forest policy and institutions. Supervised and monitored implementation of specific projects (West Bengal, MP, Maharashtra, AP Forestry, Integrated Watershed and Ecodevelopment (Biodiversity Conservation) Projects with particular attention to achieving development objectives and resolved major issues as they arose. Maintained a high level of dialogue with Government, and project implementing agencies, NGOs, other donor agencies and various other stakeholders, on natural resource/forestry sector policies, projects and sector reform program in India. Followed up with the Government both Central and State and involved agencies on the recommendations and actions agreed at supervision, pre-appraisal and appraisal; coordinated as team leader for the whole forestry/watershed project portfolio. Participated in forestry project reviews undertaken by the Bank and the Government from time to time.
