Joe has 28 years experience with technology development and a practical emphasis on understanding user needs, getting contracts/funding, and driving teams and technologies towards mission success. He focuses on military and space flight technologies, robotics, electromagnetics, intellectual property, prototyping and business development. Joe's education includes electrical engineering (electromagnetic and analog emphasis) and art. He is a disciplined systems engineer and applies systems engineering to all technical and business activities.

He has built several business divisions and is currently building a startup company. He has worked with large and small companies, and consulted for the US government, on commercial, military, and environmental technologies. He has delivered over 75 hardware/software systems and written/managed hundreds of proposals. Joe is proficient and comfortable with multidisciplinary technologies, engineering, technical documentation, business development, proposals writing, pricing, intellectual property protection, company building, and basic accounting. He knows how to position technologies and business activities to attract investment. He has generated over $20M in contract revenues directly as a result of his concepts.

Joe specializes in the formulation and articulation of complex concepts that result in real world, practical, and field ready hardware/software systems. He has developed and uses a specialized, custom and streamlined systems engineering process for defining mission/systems, tracking and managing technology development, and progressing and documenting technology readiness level. He utilizes a systems model that balances architecture and its operation such that it provides capabilities/requirements to satisfy mission/user needs. Joe is experienced at building teams and generating team and customer consensus. Whenever possible and throughout the development/product lifecycle, he deploys to customer sites to understand the mission and system operation in its working environment, for example munitions response, demining, and development testing.
