Throughout my career as a medical laboratory professional, my outlook has always been that the patient comes first and I have carried this outlook with me into the field of medical diagnostics. My philosophy on laboratory medicine is that behind each tube of blood in the laboratory, there is a patient waiting on the results so that their physician can improve their quality of life and give them a cure for their illness. In diagnostics, it allows me to provide quality service and products that will allow the laboratorian to give the physicians the tools to correctly diagnose their patients.

My career has given me the opportunity to work both sides of the laboratory bench. As a laboratory technologist, I have had direct contact with running the laboratory testing, interacting with physicians, training co-workers, and providing assistance where needed. In the diagnostics field, I have been given the opportunity to troubleshoot instrumentation, provide technical support, train laboratorians, and interact as a consultant to physicians and laboratory staff.

I am greatly interested in all aspects of Immunology, Microbiology, and Public Health. My main interests are HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Infectious Disease, and Autoimmune Diseases. I enjoy both the testing and education aspects that each of these areas allow me to be involved in.
