Duties:
Exercising managerial responsibilities, involving basic management duties
Creating the HR Department for a new company; the activity started in June 1998 and was extended to 4000 employees by October 2000 and fluctuating down to 2500, arriving again at a maximum of 5000 ( permanent + temporary employees). In 2005, while working with temporary employees, a new headcount reduction of 600 permanent employees.
Identifying, planning, implementing and developing HR strategies and systems; agreeing formats, timescales and completing projects within set deadlines and budget.
Ensuring all HR activities meet and integrate with organizational requirements.
Serving as employees advocate and advisor to management on personnel policies, making recommendations to the management.
Advising management on legislative changes affecting personnel programs.
Initiating and developing new programs in accordance with overall company objectives and philosophy; develop new human resources policies; providing guidance to the managers and supervisors concerning work related problems, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
Counseling employees and management regarding salary administration procedures, employee benefits, employment laws.
Solving issues related to industrial relations with Union members, Employee representative members. Negotiate Collective agreement. Developing materials for several HR/Union related court cases.
Working with the other senior managers as the Site Leadership team to achieve collective objectives.
Act as Internal Communication Champion; implement a monthly internal Newsletter; organize and actively participate to All Hands Site Meetings; implement an employee suggestion system; design HR information board’s format in the production lines.
Represent the company at highest level – presentations in front of Company’s CEO and Board, Ambassadors, Romanian President, other personalities visiting the site.
Develop employee satisfaction surveys and suggestion forum that enhanced staff morale, motivation, and increased retention. Develop and implement other employee retention tools. Develop absenteeism reduction strategies.
Establish and coordinate staff training and development programs.
Develop and assess job classification and salary grading.
Design and implement the employee handbook, HR related policies and procedures and employee database.
Coordinate employees services ( transportation, canteen, meal tickets, medical cabinets, internal pharmacy)
Support the management in introducing Lean manufacturing – 6 Sigma principles in Solectron Romania (organizing training, directly participate to Kaizen and Shingijutsu events in the production lines); directly participate in 5’s programs on the shop floor and office premises.
