MJS as Entrepreneur, Inventor, Consultant and Engineer has over twenty five years of experience in business development, project management, design engineering, analysis, manufacturing engineering and product introduction in the medical product industry. This experience was gained while working in areas of surgical instrumentation, production automation, implants, laboratory ***** instrumentation, and drug delivery devices.

MJS founded ***** Medical ***** , ***** , (“AMI”) a company focused on developing remote controlled ***** for minimally invasive surgical applications. Other experience includes work with Corning Glass Works, Hewlett Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Millipore Corporation, Orion Research, Visualization Technology, ***** (now part of GE Healthcare), Waters Corporation and several start-up and early stage companies. MJS led or participated in the development of an ***** DNA pellet preparation system, an ***** DNA sequencer/imager system, a snap-lock knee implant, an image guided surgery system and related equipment, a micro-osmometer, a blood gas analyzer among other developments. MJS accomplishments have contributed to approximately $1Billion in sales revenues for clients and employers. MJS has ten issued patents and two patents pending.

In 2001, MJS co-founded, and later became the first President of the not-for-profit Medical Development Group, (“MDG”), a medical technology industry group. In 2003 MJS co-founded AlvaMed, LLC, a for profit medical device consulting company. In 2006 MJS helped co-found Medical Development Partners, LLC. (“MDP”), a medical device consulting company, for which he was the Chief Technology Officer. MJS has helped AlvaMed and MDP develop a significant client base, complete numerous projects, which satisfied or surpassed client
requirements, and established each company as a major resource for development of medical products. MJS continues to develop various medical products, as a result of his drive to solve unmet clinical needs. He can lead or participate in business assessment and strategy, project management, intellectual property landscape analysis and strategy, product development, design, analysis and problem solving.

MJS received his Master of Engineering from Dartmouth College’s Thayer School of Engineering and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
