I am an experienced Senior Surveyor/Geomatician recently having completed my task for Anadarko on their El Merk project in Algeria. The El Merk project is a $5 billion development building hydrocarbon infrastructure for the extraction of Oil and Gas from the El Merk fields. The work comprises managing and overseeing contractors in all survey aspects and the development of a project GIS.

Prior to this I worked on a UXO survey proposal offshore Kuwait. I have previously completed a similar project offshore Papua New Guinea. I have also recently worked for Shell and Maersk in the North Sea as a Client Representative during Rig Moves and Construction Work within the UK and Danish Offshore sectors.

Within BG (British Gas Exploration and Production), I have been the main Project Manager of a new GIS Data Structure that has been rolled out worldwide in all Assets and major hubs. The GIS Data Structure enables the user to interface with the data regardless of the underlying data storage facility, be it ArcSDE/Oracle to a humble personal geodatabase.

Prior to working with BG I worked as the Senior Geomatician (covering Operations and GIS) for Shell Algeria Venture based in Rijswijk, The Netherlands. This included support for Geophysical Operations for 3000Km of 2D Seismic Survey and 7 wells to be drilled in two separate Contract Areas. In addition, the job included development and maintenance of Base Reference Data, both newly acquired and legacy, IHSE, HSE and Well data, Environmental and Archaeological Data and finally Satellite Imagery including High Resolution Imagery. The work included close involvement with non spatial Data Management personnel and work with subsurface software like OpenSpirit, Petrel and GeoFrame.

I also worked as a Senior Geomatician, in Saudi Arabia designing and implementing a Corporate Information System with GIS at its core for SRAK, (South Rub El Khali), a joint venture between Total, Saudi Aramco and Shell. This again included support for Geophysical Operations for 18, 00Km of 2D Seismic Survey and Drilling Operations. In addition, the job included development and maintenance of Base Reference Data, Gravity data, both newly acquired and legacy, IHSE and HSE and Well data, Environmental and Archaeological Data and finally Satellite Imagery.

I have also worked as a GIS Project Manager for 3 years developing an Enterprise Wide GIS for the largest current Oil and Gas Construction Project in the World, on Sakhalin Island, Russia.

I have 16 years previous experience in the offshore oil exploration industry, as a Hydrographic Surveyor/Navigation Client Representative ranging from site survey, pre/post pipeline survey, rig positioning and 2D/3D seismic surveys. This role required detailed knowledge of computer hardware and software to support operations in offshore and remote locations. This included the use and mobilisation of Sun Sparc 10 and IBM RISC 6000 workstations. The Operating System was invariably UNIX.

I have worked in a multitude of environments from situations where I have been working by myself to others where I have been a full team member. I consider myself very good at analysing a situation and working with people to ensure that all the situation goals are reached.
