Expert Profile
I am an experienced Lighting Electronics engineer who has authored 54 US patents. I can contribute: knowledge of the different ways that electronic ballasts and LED drives can be designed, and of the advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches. Detailed expertise on topics such as triac stabilization for phase controlled LED drives and what quantitative factors constitute high quality (steady) light as perceived by the human eye. Detailed knowledge and experience of most of the common power converters such as buck, boost, LLC, series resonant and parallel resonant, and of the various species of charge pump boost. Get power circuit design projects moving again when they have ground to a halt. Work with the engineers to analyze the root problem and create a solution. Assessment of new products for proper functioning, to meet customer requirements and UL requirements. Evaluation of shortcomings. Pinpoint problems that should not be allowed to get into manufacture. Determine whether or not a product is patentable, and work with a patent attorney to draft the broadest possible claims that will establish a powerful position for your company in the industry.
