Research Experience:
1. Research topic: “Peptidomemitics based inhibitor design for HIV1 Gp120 attachment protein by in silico”.
Duration: 5 months ( May 2008 – September 2008)
Department of Bioinformatics , University of Madras, INDIA.
Description:
Peptidomemitics is a of novel drug designing strategy, by which an Insilico inhibitor is designed by mimicking the framework of a short peptide. Novel drug design strategies only shall pave way for developing unique and safer anti-HIV drugs. In this present study, I propose a Peptidomemitics based gp120 attachment inhibitor. In our biological system, HIV-1 interacts with CD4 receptor of the host by its surface glycoprotein gp120 and establishes initial attachment. This protein–protein interaction interface was forms the base to derive an inhibitor mimicking backbone of Cd4 interacting interface. The mimicked inhibitor derived in this study is based on the Insilico interactions of SCD4 (precursor of CD4) with gp120. The molecular interactions of SCD4 with gp120 were identified by ME Dock software. Furthermore, the interacting interface was analyzed manually for topology, and the
backbone of the ligand molecule was sketched based on it with chemsketch. Moreover, the sketched ligand was energy 3D optimized and was docked with gp120 using Argus lab. The obtained ligand formed six hydrogen bonds with the binding interface of gp120. The ligand was also found to be fit with good druggable character, as per Lipinski’s rule. Hence, this work addresses the drug likeness of the ligand proposed.
2. Research Topic: “Biological Database Tool Kit(BDTK)”:
Duration: 8 Months (October 2008 – May 2009)
Department of Bioinformatics , University of Madras, INDIA.
Description:
BDTK (Biological Database Tool Kit) is LAMP based Open source off line tool to Create Database with Search Engine. This tool provides various unique features like insert, alter, update, and drop the data based upon the User wish. Once the database is created it can be export with its interface. BDTK is an offline tool that can
be used in a standalone environment. On the experimental verification, it was found that the BDTK was an excellent advancement in the field of Bioinformatics. And it was highly flexible. The tool could handle large amount of data and process it quickly. One of the hallmarks of this tool is that its user friendliness. Users would definitely be at ease
while working with this new tool . This was quite evident during the test phase. The overall tool turns out to be highly reliable and accurate. This tool will prove to be highly useful for the scientists. BDTK has the potential to become a part of Bioinformatics essential Tool kit. This software is developed with an intention to provide as a
freeware for the scientific community.
3. Research Topic: “Project management software for Clinical Research Organisation:”
Duration: 6 months (June 2009 – November 2009)
Huclin Research Limited:
Project management package for clinical research organization (BIOAVAILABILITY & BIOEQUIVALENCE STUDIES) right from lead generation to report submission including client and customer
management.
4. Research Topic: “Peptidomimetic based local inhibitor for wounds using MKK3 protein by Insillico”
Duration: 10 months (June 2010 – March 2011)
***** :
The Aim of the project was to increase the speed of inflammatory phase in wound healing. In order to do
this, an inhibitor was developed mimicking the peptide MKK3 which binds in the GLU-160, ASP-161 position of p38 and causes conformational changes in it active sites and phosphorylation lip.
5. Research Topic: Insilico vaccine approach for the development of sub-unit vaccine for Brucella melitensis biotype 2 (strain ATCC ***** ).
Duration: 7 months (August 2011 – March 2012)
***** :
i. To find antigenic peptide’s or peptide restricted epitope from the proteome of Brucella melitensis biotype 2 (strain ATCC ***** ).
ii. To find the peptide regions of Brucella melitensis biotype 2 (strain ATCC ***** ) interacting with the human MHC class II complexes.
6. Research Topic: IVIVC Software (Invitro Invivo Correlation) :
Duration: Research Under progress – ( Started June 2012)
***** :
IVIVC is Correlations between In Vitro and In Vivo data are often used during pharmaceutical development in order to reduce development time and optimize the formulation. The ability to predict, accurately and precisely, expected bioavailability characteristics for an ER product from dissolution profile characteristics.
