I have spent more than 15 years working in various aspects of biotech and healthcare, building a rich knowledge base for transforming scientific ideas into commercial products. I’ve worked at a hospital, a large company, small companies, and two universities, in various roles. I have had hands-on experience with:
• Overall corporate business strategy,
• Intellectual property (copyright, trademark and patent),
• Licensing (in and out),
• Sales (direct and through channels, software and medical device),
• Marketing (strategy, collateral development, focus groups, research),
• Fund raising (including an IPO),
• Technology commercialization assessment,
• Contract negotiation and drafting,
• Laboratory management, and
• Laboratory research.
Because I have graduate degrees and experience in both science (PhD in Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University) and business (MBA from University of Washington), I am conversant and comfortable in both arenas. My true strength is evaluating technology and then developing, and executing, sensible strategies for commercialization.
