• Present Assignment:
• Lead buyer responsible for the worldwide sourcing, technical productivity, product quality of tubular towers.
• Instrumental in developing the towers from the existing vendors viz. , Metal fab High-tech(P) ltd, Nagpur, Global Wind power, Silvassa, by fulfilling the requirement of the Kenersys technical specifications and timely delivery.
• Audited the facilities of new tower vendors like DN Wind systems, Kolhapur, Tool Fab Engg. Industries and Velmurugan Industries, iruchy.
• Good knowledge of the welding Procedures, welding processes, standards, NDT
requirements, Painting requirements for developing quality towers from the vendors.
• Involved in the preparation and issue of Bill of Material, drawings, specifications, quality checklist /quality plan to the vendors and resolving their queries.
• Responsible for Vendor selection, supporting purchase dept for cost calculations, development & Technology transfer at International as well as domestics vendors of all critical nacelle and rotor components like (Main frame, main shaft, main bearing housing, hub, Girder systems, Gear Rim, Slewing ring etc, for the WTG parts and successfully completed the task within stipulated time.
• Involved in the turbine assembly with the German designers.
• To manage and coordinate all facets of the Basic and detailed Engineering.
• Involved in the coordination with the third party inspection agencies like Lloyds, BVS, PL, UV, NV, L, SGS for different components i. e. Setting standards, directing, verification and approval for the specified processes and standards.
• Involved in due diligence of GL, type certification of DNV.
• Part of the Vendor development activities in close coordination with the Supply Chain right from vendor selection, vendor evaluation, development activities at vendor, finalization of Quality Check list, prototype component approval
• Ensure final engineering documentation is prepared in accordance with the internal requirements.
• Attend weekly engineering meetings and tele-con to ensure there are no engineering issues pending in order to ensure project is meeting schedule.
• Work in close liaison with the design &Engineering team in Kenersys GmbH on fulfillment of requirements for certification agency (DNV) for the design assessment and type certification of Kenersys K ***** . 0MW wind turbine.
• Work closely with turbine WTG and site QC teams & manage the third party inspection agency for the inspection of components to guarantee success in the technical, quality, safety and construction aspects of the project.
• IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) Management
• Recording of problems observed during assembly of ‘0’ series production
• Perform audit of Quality systems, audits at vendor’s place for adequacy.
• Preparing Technical bid documents for tenders. Instrumental in getting the technical proposal cleared by the C-WET technical committee and awarded the tender for 1 No. of WTG.
• Fulfilling the Technical evaluation criteria pertaining to the certification and testing units of Centre for Wind Energy Technology (C-WET) for enrollment in Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM) as per Type Approval Provisional Scheme –TAPS 2000 for Wind Turbine Generators in India, in a record span of 4 months under the self certification policy of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy(MNRE).
• Coordination with the MNRE on Bill of material approval and getting the Concession Customs Duty Certificate for import of Wind turbine Components.
• Provide inputs critical to Quality to design based on the Indian operating and environmental conditions and local regulations /standards to evolve a design having high reliability, low cost, easy to operate and maintain, small dynamic load, Grid ride through capabilities, low losses, modularity across platforms, proven drive train concept.
• Evaluating the vendors of cast. fabricated components , lectrical & other systems. Supply chain & procurement activities including supplier evaluation, evaluation of service provider.
• To update the existing assembly check sheets /assembly manual and periodically review the same for design changes, feedbacks and continually improve.
