Ted is a leading expert in service parts solutions and processes from supply chain automation to technical documentation such as EPCs (Electronic Parts Catalogs) to parts e-commerce to business systems used by franchised dealerships and authorized distributors. Ted’s experience centers on automotive and also includes commercial truck, heavy equipment and power sport OE’s and their distribution channels. Ted built and expanded businesses in this sector in large part by building alliances and is thus knowledgeable about a wide range of firms serving manufacturers and their channels.
Ted has a strong financial background (MBA – University of Chicago) and extensive experience in Business Development – from acquisitions (and divestitures) to joint ventures and strategic alliances. Ted has a strategic focus and has led the strategic planning for nearly his entire career – he is adept at identifying potential synergies, trends and growth opportunities.
Ted was the project manager for the first illustrated EPC (electronic parts catalog) and led the unit to annual revenues well over $100 million. Ted also led the first large-scale web-based parts locator business displacing strong incumbents – doubling the industry’s revenue. Ted then defined and drove the a number of new product lines including: (a) parts e-commerce; (b) replenishment solutions; (c) a market place for idle/excess OE parts.
