Valerie has 17 years of experience as the clinical expert for very large hospital system product evaluation and selection committees at both Sharp and Scripps Health Care organizations in San Diego. Additionally, she has contracted her services to "start-up" and established health care product companies as a consultant for: R&D, product evaluation, viability, packaging, and marketing. Over 30 years of bedside RN experience as the "product end-user" in the following areas: Advanced Vascular Access, Critical Care, Interventional Radiology, Emergency, and OR. Valerie has developed and implemented multiple education programs for physicians and RNs related to peripheral IVs and all types of CVCs (central venous catheters) including: dynamic ultrasound placement, care, maintenance and trouble-shooting. Her hospital policies, programs and education resulted in a significant decrease in VAD (Vascular Access Device) related complications for patients.
