1. A Large Private Bank in India
A large private bank which has commendable brand name embarked on a rapid expansion of its retail portfolio. I worked as a subject matter expert and key consultant in a team of six. I analyzed the portfolio, organization structure, processes, systems, and MI, along with key strengths and limitations of the organization and recommended key gaps and enhancements required. Some other outputs were collection scoring, MI design and development, systems analysis and requirements specifications, and operational blue prints for all processes in collections and vendor management.
2. Cost Optimization
Cost optimization has three dimensions: Firstly, map the costs of each work unit to factors of value addition, complexity, and automation possibilities. Secondly, processes, organizational structure, strengths and limitations have to be assessed. Lastly, use quantitative analytics and statistical modeling for finding optimal solutions.
I have implemented cost optimization in ABN Amro Bank as an employee and in ATS services Pvt Ltd in their collections.

3. Target-setting
Target setting exercise is essentially a multi-pronged task which is underestimated in most organization. A target that is set should directly correlate to portfolio objectives, be justifiable to all stake-holders, take historical performance into account, and take organizational and external limitations into account. Most importantly, it should allow for comparison against actual performance at any time during a year and adjust itself dynamically according to the remaining period and backlog left. I have developed a stand-alone application and implemented it in ABN Amro. To my knowledge, there is no equivalent application in banking industry in India or globally.

4. MI Design and Development
Most of the times, a vast amount of time and effort is spent of gathering, reconciling among multiple and disparate MI, leading to multiple interpretations, and slows decision making. An MI design should be
• Relevant to all stake holders
• Holistic
• Simplistic
• Easy to maintain
I designed the MI for a large private bank in India which spans portfolio performance, credit indicator reports, collection performance and tracking, and operational management of collection units.
As an employee, I rationalized MI in my collections unit in Standard Charted Bank saving 1-hr per manager. I have implemented MI in wider scale in ABN Amro Bank as a Strategy Head – Cards and PL Collections.

5. Systems Analysis and Design
I worked knowledge management solutions group in NIIT Technologies which includes e-learning, and people competency management. I also have the product management experience in e-learning and knowledge management applications during this stint. Apart from that, I also designed the entire website*****, which is my own entrepreneurial experiment.
When it comes to IT requirement for solving a business problem, I instinctively connect the two very opposite perspectives. As a business analyst, I can marry business objectives with IT capabilities such that effective and efficient IT solutions can be created.
I also have in-depth analyst knowledge of
• Banking automation systems such as CRM, Collection Systems, Credit Management Tools, or Accounting Systems
• Web portals and web-based applications
• Automation tools such as Content Management Systems (CMS), Learning and Knowledge Management Systems, Collaboration and Work-flow based systems, and Management Information Systems
I can convert business requirements into system specifications that IT specialists can understand. The result is usually an in-depth understanding of requirement which becomes a reliable foundation of IT applications, particularly in Banking Operations and web-based applications.
