Digital Textile Printing
We are seeking to better understand the color management and control within the field of digital textile printing (e.G., textile used for clothing or home goods), and more broadly in specialized digital printing applications (excluding paper printing, e.G., standard office printers). Essentially, we would like to assess the options and need an informed opinion to help shape our thinking as we decide whether to enter this market and how to do so. We’re seeking an expert that is familiar with both the hardware (e.G., spectrophotometer) used to measure the color of printed textiles and the software that communicates with the printers. There are two components to the software (1) color profiling of the printer and (2) rip software, which provides printing instructions to the digital printers and controls the printing process and inks. On the printing side, major players include companies like dover, efi, epson, etc. On the software side, the companies are much smaller but in textile printing they include caldera, ergosoft, colorgate, wasatch, etc. Ideally we would want to speak to someone that was involved in business development, strategic planning, perhaps an innovation or technology officer that has a broader view of the market landscape. Please include your background pertaining to the needs above, thank you.
