Automotive Market Future

We are a us based investment firm that is doing some work on the future of the automotive market. It is a pretty broad assignment that will likely require pulling from different areas of expertise. These are large complicated topics and we have done a fair amount of secondary research on them and are looking for advisors with deep expertise and current perspectives on these topics and an ability to go beyond the high level headlines to provide well thought out, fact-based views. 1) outlook for aftermarket in light of headwinds (collision avoidance technologies) and tailwinds (distracted driving) a.) view on collisions / collision rates in 2020s/2030/2040 with ability to articulate rationale (number of accidents that can be addressed by different collision avoidance technologies, with views on adoption of those technologies) b.) perspective on rising collision rates over last few years and outlook for collision rates in short to medium term given demographics (e.G. Aging population / drivers license participation from younger drivers) and distracted driving. What has been the impact of these various factors? Have we seen most of it or should we expect meaningful impact? C.) expert may come from auto industry, insurance, regulatory / non-profit 2) electric vehicles and impact on aftermarket in the us a.) views on degree and timing of electric vehicle penetration (through 2030/2040), and key variables b.) perspective on ownership cost (maintenance) of an electric vehicle vs. Ice, and implications for auto aftermarket 3) fuel efficiency outlook in the us a.) views on mpg outlook for the car parc in 2030 and 2040, and total fuel demand b.) high level perspectives on powertrain technologies (ice, hybrid, plug in ev, fuel cell) prospects (share of new vehicles and car parc for each technology) 4) impact of autonomous on us auto industry (car parc, miles traveled, new vehicle sales) a.) provide an integrated view of the us auto industry in 2030/ 2040 incorporating macro/demographic factors, autonomous vehicle share (of new vehicle sales, miles driven, car parc), private vehicle miles driven and car parc b.) ability to discuss basis for assumptions for autonomous penetration, e.G. Addressable vehicle miles travel according to use case / geographic setting (urban vs. Suburban vs. Rural) or some other segmentation approach 5) drivers license participation and vehicle density trends/outlook a.) view on dl participation and vehicle density in 2030 / 2040 b.) explanation of historical trends and near term outlook i. How much of a factor is demographic shift from rural to urban, vs. Changes within urban settings that can be explained by demographic mix (age, income etc) vs. True participation and density declines controlling for demographics ii. Explaining decline in dl participation among youngest drivers (below 19); perspective on impact of driver’s license laws (how much of the penetration decline has been driven by this, and will license laws continue to put pressure on this segment or have they largely run their course) 6) impact on new vehicle sales and aftermarket of improving quality / views on scrapage rates and average age (2030 / 2040) 7) integrated view of automotive aftermarket outlook for 2030 / 2040 considering vehicle quality, electric vehicles, safety technologies, autonomous etc, by segment, e.G. - collision repair - maintenance - repair - specialty / discretionary in your response, please include your experience as it pertains to the above and any other details that will help us in deciding to move forward with scheduling a call. Thank you in advance.

    Eco Driving Growth Stats

Hi, i found your site through a google search as i attempt to compare the business growth of eco driving and that of young drivers off road. I am preparing a presentation for a driving instructors meeting. My aim is to persuade them that under age driving is good for the pupils and is currently the growth market - and is greater than the eco driving growth that every one has bought into. My intention is not to compete in this market but to review the current legislation on 16 year old's driving on our nations roads. Possibly you may have experienced negative feedback from the "old mindset" of those in the industry? Unfortunately i was pretty much ignored when i first raised the proposal of an opportunity for change. I am therefore keen to quote stats in % only of some non associated businesses. My proposal is for the industry to support the opportunity for all "16 year old on the road - accompanied for 1 year by adi's" this would be a major step change for the industry - government - voters and 16 year olds. Please can you advise whether you would be able to supply a % growth for this market for the industry or even your business % of new clients - under age % of current clients - under age versus last year or last few years. I would also welcome your feed back re- any support you feel you may be able to offer or ideas you think i should consider in support of this proposal. Should you require any further information regarding the matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Pediatrics

Hi zintro expert, the zintro blog needs you! we are looking for expert opinions on the news mentioned below and would like to include your point of view. We realize your time is valuable, so here is a brief summary of what we are looking for: *a brief answer to the prompt about 1-2 paragraphs including your full name *participation is voluntary no payment will be involved *if chosen, you will be named in the post and we'll include a link to your zintro profile which will generate more visitors for you wondering what the post would look like? Here is a sample: http://blog.Zintro.Com/2012/01/16/keystone-xl-pipeline-pros-and-cons/ topic and prompt the american academy of pediatrics is calling for secondary schools to push back their start times by an hour or more to at least 8:30 a.M. The move would better align teens’ natural sleep patterns, which make it hard for them to fall asleep before 11 p.M., with school schedules, said the group, the nation’s largest organization of doctors who care for children. The litany of woes linked to a lack of sleep is long, going well beyond teenagers dozing off during first period or loading up on caffeinated drinks to stay awake. Along with suffering academic performance, sleep-deprived teens are more likely to have car accidents and to struggle with mental health issues including depression, and with weight gain, according to a policy statement published in the journal pediatrics. By the time they are in sixth grade, most american students are already falling short in the sleep department. Just 41 percent get the recommended 8.5 to 9.5 hours a night, according to a national sleep foundation poll. The statistics get worse as they get older, with 13 percent of high school students getting the amount of rest they need, the poll found. What are your thoughts about the aap’s announcement? Getting your name and expert opinion published on our blog is a great marketing opportunity. If interested, please send a response to the prompt via znotes within 1-2 days. Don't forget to include your full name. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you! the zintro blog team

    Brain Death

My mother was recently pronounced brain dead at a nc hospital after a car accident. I see that there is no unified law or protocol in determining someone brain dead, but my family feels that somehow we were forced by the hospital to go through with the brain death tests. The way the doctors communicated the process was terse at best, telling us that we had to do the tests in 3 days. After the incident, i tried to get a copy of the hospital protocol on brain death. They did have a guideline, but no unified checklist. Both were indicated as revised after my mother's passing. We are not trying to hold anyone responsible, but mainly trying to find whether what we were told was accurate. As a reference, her prognosis was brain hemorrhage and herniation.
