Key responsibilities / role: -day to day maintenance and support of application, related server and network infrastructure -lead/participate and support application and infrastructure projects and change activity and deliver innovative solutions -ad hoc / on-call support during weekdays and weekend work is required -change management – maintain the integrity of the production environmentparticipate in dr setup and testing -ensure the operation of the unix servers is in accordance with established procedures and practices -troubleshooting of incidents and ensure server availability and integrity -actively participate in incident and problem management tasks -this role will work with other technical teams in the support and enhancement of the core infrastructure to ensure better reliability and resilience, whilst at the same time making the environment more cost effective -this may include making recommendations about enhancements to the existing infrastructure experience: 8+ years relevant experience as a unix system administrator supporting implementation, analysis, optimization, troubleshooting, and documentation of red hat linux platforms education: -bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering highly desirable skills: -installation/upgrade & configuration of servers – network configuration, firmware install, os install, file system configuration -experience in installing, configuring and trouble-shooting application servers to include apache, unix, linux and windows -patch implementation & maintenance, licensing and performance management -experience in working virtually with development teams to troubleshoot application issues, network issues and application performance tuningstrong analytical and troubleshooting skills -knowledge of advanced firewall configurations, diagnosing complex network infrastructure and the delivery of effective solutions -capability to plan and execute unix security and compliance requirementsstrong networking skills including tcp/ip, udp multicast, routing and troubleshooting. -experience on handling production environments  -experience in unix shell scripting & perl scripting -familiar with management of infrastructure technologies including nis, puppet, rhn, dns -should possess good verbal and written communication skills and be customer service orientated. -good understanding of itil processes and production support experience thanks, varish
