C. Does the cost of sourcing vary by category? I.E. Airlines vs. Hotels vs. Car rental vs. Rail?
D. What is the impact on the cost structure or procurement services cost of the tmc and the bpo in a non-mandated environment?
3. Internal governance structure:
a. What are typically the corporate governance structures of fortune 500 companies to buy and manage travel services? What corporate governance is needed to manage a 3rd party procurement team?
B. How would a 3rd party engage with the in-house travel operations team?

4. Supplier analysis:
a. Who are the key suppliers for travel procurement? (both tmc and bpo)
b. What are the supplier selection criteria for travel procurement outsourcing?
C. How can companies leverage their current travel agency buying power?
D. What would be the impact/reaction of the current suppliers of the buyer if the buyer utilizes the services of a 3rd party outsourcing provider?
5. Contract terms best practices:
a. How does commissions/rebate model work when procurement is outsourced to tmc or bpo? Can the client/buyer claim the rebates? If yes, is there a standard % rebate? Does this vary for each category (airline, hotel, car rental)
b. Should buyers manage individually the relationship with all airlines or just select a few? Shall airlines be managed as alliances or by airline individually?
C. For hotels, is it better to manage by chain or directly with the property?
D. What is the right balance between having negotiated rates and take advantage of published fares (air and hotel)
e. What tools are utilized to measure contract compliance? Frequency? How do the tools vary between the categories? I.E. Airlines, hotel, rental car?
F. What is the best approach in negotiating contracts when companies do not mandate utilization of preferred suppliers?
G. What are various supplier penalties when contracted rates (hotels in particular) are not available at the time of booking on the client/buyer’s online booking tool?
H. What are the industries best practices to ensure contracted hotel amenities are included in the rate offering at the time of booking? Both online as well as when traveler calls the hotel directly to reserve a room? How is this monitored?
