according to science daily, kansas state university researchers are making astronautsâ outer space outerwear. The team is made up of electrical and computer engineering professors along with over a dozen students. The team âenvisions a future spacesuit that could monitor astronautsâ health and use body heat to power electronics. By working with a model spacesuit, the engineers are exploring how wearable medical sensors can be used in future space missions to keep astronauts healthy.Â
the project is funded by nasa with a 3-year $750,000 grant, and according to science daily, involves the college of engineeringâs electrical and computer engineering department, the electronic design laboratory and the college of human ecology, including the kinesiology department and the apparel, textiles, and interior design department.Â
the project involves five parts, with several students involved in each part:
* developing and testing biosensors that can monitor astronauts' vital data, such as breathing rate or muscle activity.
* creating a specialized wireless network so that spacesuit biosensors can communicate with each other and with a space station.
* using energy harvesting technology to power radios and biosensors while an astronaut is in a spacesuit.
* building hardware prototypes for biosensors and energy harvesting electronics.
* producing spinoff technologies, such as new radio technologies and devices that apply to home care.
What are your thoughts about the effect the project will have on the experience of astronauts in outer space?
Getting your name and expert opinion published on our blog is a great marketing opportunity. If interested, please send a response to the prompt via znotes within 1-2 days. Dont forget to include your full name.

Need an experienced electrical engineer interested in becoming a team member to accompany and even lead existing volunteer engineers with mems, rf or em tagging, sensors, signal processing. Pay contingent on market success which is highly likely given the subjects matter. Patents to be credited appropriately for your services etc. We are an inventor group.
Seeking an expert in any of the following to join our inventor team or assist our project as an advisor. We have needs to track people and equipment so sensor experts, signal processing, rf, em, ir etc. Firmware programmers.
We aim to patent our ideas. Your name will be credited. We are a start up. All techs and experts on the project are volunteers working part time for free with pay contingent on us going to market. We have funding resources as well, but are holding off as long as we can on that.
I cannot disclose any more than this here, but it is in the hottest market going now and i have the vehicles to get product out in large numbers if we can complete the prototypes already in motion. We have a current motorola employee, a bio-engineer, an experienced operations person with a success record in start-ups, some rock star sales and marketing connections etc.
We post here because recently ousted one person for being arrogant and trying to take over the project. We are aim to replace them. We need good skills, but honest intent. We run a transparent business model set to serve the general public and business in a grand way. Better yet, the people on the project as core team members stand to retire if we follow through per plan. Please introduce yourself, explain your skillset and we can go from there. Never hurts to look right? Experienced professionals would not be working for free if we didn't have facts to back our cause. Inquire as you please. We hope to have one prototype done in a few months and head to market in a year. Thank you for reading. I am the owner / founder.+14 Other Responses
