We are currently assembling a board of advisors for our company, which provides online event management and marketing tools. We have recently relaunched our website and are currently searching for funding. Our site is fully developed, current operating expenses are minimal, we have a growing customer base, and we are seeing significant traction in terms of site traffic. The main requirements for our advisory roles would be to provide guidance on services, general website navigation, ideas for strategy in terms of promoting the company, and feedback on progress and direction. The basic requirement is to meet quarterly (a conference call may be acceptable) and provide general guidance and feedback as needed. We are looking for two specific profiles: #1. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in selling within the event space. Specifically, we are looking for guidance in positioning our company to independent event planners / corporate planners, professional associations, and also our enterprise level software to national groups and convention centers. This would also include how best to allocate marketing spend to reach these and other targets. We would also be looking for insight as to industry trends and the potential impact or call to action for our business. This candidate should be highly respected in the event industry and will also be able to make introductions and provide inroads for potential clients/customers. #2. The candidate must have extensive experience in email and software marketing / social marketing, and ideally will also have event related knowledge. We are looking for guidance in refining our marketing tools and how to best position them to specifically benefit the event space. This would also include how to make our offering more sexy. This are not paid positions, however, the right candidates may be offered an ownership stake and/or incentives for referrals.
