Economy

Hi zintro expert, the zintro blog needs you! we are looking for expert opinions on the news mentioned below and would like to include your point of view. We realize your time is valuable, so here is a brief summary of what we are looking for: - a brief answer to the prompt about 1-2 paragraphs including your full name - participation is voluntary no payment will be involved - if chosen, youã‚â™ll be named in the post and weã‚â™ll include a link to your zintro profile which will generate more visitors for you wondering what the post would look like? Here is a sample: http://blog.Zintro.Com/2012/01/16/keystone-xl-pipeline-pros-and-cons/ topic and prompt economy the first-ever united nations environmental assembly opened in kenya on monday, as more than 150 high-level delegations began a weeklong examination of the intersection between global economic progress and the environment. The environment is no longer a niche topic backed by a passionate minority, achim steiner, the head of the u.N. Environmental program told the associated press, but is clearly linked to economic and societal issues. The changing environment including climate change, pollution, land degradation and access to water shows that the world's economy needs to be reinvented or progress will suffer, steiner said. The u.N. Recently upgraded unep's standing and the weeklong assembly is the highest-level u.N. Body ever convened on the environment. Wherever you live on the planet these phenomena are going to change the lives and economies of people, whether it's in ohio, somewhere in siberia or western china, steiner said. Sanjaasuren oyun, minister of environment and green development in mongolia, told the opening session that a shift toward more environmentally sound policies is a prerequisite for sustainable development. Oyun on monday was elected the president of the newly constituted u.N. Environmental assembly. The conference will discuss ways to increase the progress of what is known as the green economy, including alternative energies, smart grids and new transportation options. Delegates will also look at the illegal wildlife trade, including rhino and elephant poaching. U.N. Secretary-general ban ki-moon is expected to attend later in the week. Unep, steiner said, argues that the world is on the verge of a technology revolution that in the coming decades will allow humans to tap into endless sources of energy. That will fundamentally change a continent like africa, where 70 percent of residents today don't have access to electricity. What are your thoughts about this topic? Getting your name and expert opinion published on our blog is a great marketing opportunity. If interested, please send a response to the prompt via znotes within 1-2 days. Donã‚â™t forget to include your full name. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you! the zintro blog team

Geospatial Object Detection

We are exploring development of a new geospatial software that can provide "object detection as a service". When in comes to agriculture, we understand that geospatial technology is used at a macro level globally for conducting the following analysis (most popular to least popular, in general): 1. Agriculture land cover mapping 2. Agriculture land use mapping 3. Crop damage due to natural disasters 4. Crop inventory 5. Crop acreage land production estimation 6. Land degradation studies 7. Wastelands mapping when in comes to agriculture, we understand that geospatial technology is used at a micro level globally for conducting the following analysis (most popular to least popular, in general): 1. Early crop disease detection 2. Site suitability analysis 3. Mapping of soil properties 4. Crop harvesting and storage 5. Crop transportation and distribution 6. Variable rate application and management 7. Mapping ground water resources hence our next step is to understand the following: a) possible role and adoption of object detection in each of the above 14 applications b) advantages and disadvantages of the following software revenue models for 'object detection as a service' for each of the 14 applications: a. Pay-per-use revenue model b. Shared revenue model c. Joint development with users d. Tenured subscription e. Project-based implementation f. One-time software licensing please let us know if you need any further clarification on the above query.

Land-use Change And Forestry

Invitation to authors -- this is a book project in conjunction with nova. The new book is entitled land use, land-use change and forestry (lulucf), in reference to the unfccc framework. This book is a compilation of 10-13 independent scientific articles, where each article is one chapter. Contributing authors must submit abstracts by august 15 (2013), and the full article by january 15 (2014). The contributions are in the format of scientific articles, but nevertheless there is flexibility for contributions (e.G., thesis, research, project, reviews, compilations, policy, discussions, etc). The abstract submission is about a 1 page long description of the proposed article and must include- title, names of authors, email contact information, affiliation, and draft abstract text (100-400 words) indicating the proposed idea for the article. The article will have a maximum of 10 pages and further guidance on formatting will be provided. After the abstracts deadline, we will respond to authors, and selected abstracts will move forward in the process. Non-selected abstracts are also very important to us, as they may present new ideas for a subsequent book. Therefore, we will try our very best to include all authors, and we encourage related submissions regardless of how your work may or may not strictly fit within the conventional scope of the lulucf framework. What we are looking for are initiatives/projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions (co2, noxs, ch4, etc). The work can include particular land uses (greenhouse gas reduction from technology and or methods, etc.) and/or from land-use changes promoting reductions in greenhouse gas emissions (e.G., carbon sequestration). Consider reductions in greenhouse gases in work undertaken in forest land, cropland, grassland, wetland, settlement, and other land uses. We look forward to have you and your research team on board with us in this new challenge. Please to forward any questions that may arise to our editing team members and nova. And please do send me any email containing the abstract submission. At any time, let me know if you need help or have any further questions! please extend this invitation (and feel free to forward this email) to your networks/peers who you think may be interested in taking part in this book. Have a nice day and great week!

Industrial Land Use

Dear sir/madam, we have learned through a website search that your organization is capable of providing several consulting services within the manufacturing sector. The saudi industrial property authority, ****, is the government authority responsible for providing land for the manufacturing use within the kingdom of saudi arabia. We develop industrial lands and rent them for industrial use. We receive more than 5000 industrial land requests per year. Since the rent provided is subsidized, the amount of land requested usually exceeds the available developed land. All land applicants go through an interview process no matter what their intended product is. Some of these products are related to construction material, plastic, steel, fertilizers, health care, oil exploration components, and more. Since most interviews are done by junior analysts, industry relevant experience is critical in the decision making process. As a part of our continuous improvement in processes, we have developed a plan for our existing analysts to add advisors, or consultants, from different industries to enhance their knowledge and improve their experience. Four main objectives have been identified. We are looking forward to incorporate them with the consulting service. The set of objectives are ranked according to their level of importance. 1. Comprehensive technical studies on various industries and/or products. The technical study should include the manufacturing process, raw material used, available machinery technologies to produce the same product, comparisons across technology providers or machinery providers in terms of cost, specification, production capacity, utility consumption, pollution effect etc. 2. Marketing studies for different industries and/or products. The marketing study would estimate the market size of a certain product or industry, competitive advantage of each area to estimate expected industrial land demand on certain areas. Continuously update with approved applications. 3. Working on developing different metrics such as employment/project (industry) direct and indirect plus the required skill level ( can be matched with education ). 4. Simulating the allocation and follow up process of the industrial land using monte carlo simulation (e.G. Promodel software) and perform what if analysis. Parameters within the simulation model could include: time between requests, probability of event given a fact ( such as withdrawal given electricity is not connected to the industrial city/and or factory)..etc. Discriminant analysis/and or regression analysis could also be incorporated using ibm spss. A full time consultant is highly recommended. Please let us know if your organization is providing this service and the areas of technical expertise for the advisors and/or consultants. Yours sincerely, abdulaziz
