Display Integrated Solution

Hello, i would like to engage with an expert on display integrated solutions. To be specific, i would like to learn more about one of the major players in this space - synaptics. Those who have had direct previous experience working for synaptics or are currently competing (ie atmel, cypress, melfas, zinitix, focaltech, goodix, imagis) would be suitable. Alternatively, i would like to speak to customers, such as those who decide on components of touch controllers, fingerprint sensors or display drivers in phones. Those who are familiar with the situation of synpatics acquiring validity or synaptics acquiring renesas sp drivers would also be welcome.

Flat Panel Lcd Display

I'm in the market for a 55" (or so) display for office use. This would be mounted to the wall and a computer would deliver an image via hdmi. The primary purpose is a display of task lists for multiple people... A good amount of text. However occasionally we would use for other computer purposes, such as power point presentations and webinars. We would never use it as an actual tv. However i'm struggling to understand why i would pay up to $3500 or so for a "computer" display, vs. $1500 or less for an 1080p hdtv of the same size. I have a 55" & 46" lcd tvs at my home. I've connected a laptop to both via hdmi and find the resolution defaults to 1920 x 1080, however i find in both (toshiba and lg) tvs that this results in the image pushing a bit past the viewable area. I am forced to work with my nvidia settings to set a custom resolution of something like 1860 x ???? in order to keep the image from going past the viewable area. I don't own such a large computer display, so i can't test that. Perhaps the same quirky behavior would occur? In all the reviews, i'm having trouble finding any useful feedback compelling me to spend more for a true computer display of that size... But there must be reasons? Can anyone shed light on this subject for me?

A liquid crystal display (LCD) is an electronically-modulated optical device shaped into a thin, flat panel made up of any number of color or monochrome pixels filled with liquid crystals and arrayed in front of a light source (backlight) or reflector. It is often utilized in battery-powered electronic devices because it uses very small amounts of electric power. A comprehensive classification of the various types and electro-optical modes of LCDs is provided in the article LCD classification.
