i started working on a project involving the application of artificial neural networks in matlab / simulink. However, i have very little experience in this field.
in this project is necessary to solve the problem of mobile robot navigation using artificial neural networks. Mobile robot has a camera, and 9 infrared sensor, the robot moves with 3 omnidirectional wheels driven by three dc motors. Navigation will use camera and front 3 infrared sensors. Camera should detect the edges of the obstacles in the environment (using the canny method), and infrared sensors should detect all the other obstacles that the camera can not detect (like dynamic obstacles). For unification (fusion) of information from the camera and infrared sensors, and for planning of obstacle avoidance, will be used backpropagation neural network.
Do you have any recommendations, and can you provide assistance in creating such a system.
