Hi zintro expert, the zintro blog needs you! we are looking for expert opinions on the news mentioned below and would like to include your point of view. We realize your time is valuable, so here is a brief summary of what we are looking for: *a brief answer to the prompt about 1-2 paragraphs including your full name *participation is voluntary no payment will be involved *if chosen, you will be named in the post and we'll include a link to your zintro profile which will generate more visitors for you topic and prompt the first research into the effects of oil and gas development on babies born near wells has found potential health risks. Government officials, industry advocates and the researchers themselves say more studies are needed before drawing conclusions. While the findings are still preliminary, any documented hazards threaten to cast a shadow over hydraulic fracturing, or fracking -- the process of blasting chemicals, sand and water deep underground to extract fuel from rock that’s helped push the u.S. Closer to energy self-sufficiency than at any time since 1985. “it’s not really well understood how the environment interacts with genetics to produce these birth defects,” said lisa mckenzie of the colorado school of public health, who conducted research published in january in the journal environmental health perspectives. “we really need to do more study to see what the association is, if any, with natural gas development.” what are your thoughts? Getting your name and expert opinion published on our blog is a great marketing opportunity. If interested, please send a response to the prompt via znotes within 1-2 days. Don't forget to include your full name. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you! the zintro blog team

Oil & Gas Company Valuation

We are valuing an upstream oil & gas company, which has a portfolio of producing, development and exploration natural gas assets. For us to do this exercise, we would like to hire an expert who would help us in resolving our following queries: 1. What is the best approach to identify comparable companies? What are the parameters (operational and financial metrics) on which these companies should be compared? 2. What valuation ratios should be used to value these companies? For instance, ev/reserves, ev/ebitda or any other ratios. 3. What factors would help in reconciling the valuation estimates using different metrics and methodologies? 4. For applying discount cash flow method, which cash flow estimation should be relied upon? – the one from proved reserves, 2p reserves or 3p reserves? And why? 5. What are the key risk parameters that needs to be looked upon? How should the impact of these risks be estimated and captured in the valuation? 6. Any valuation methods apart from trading multiples method and dcf method that needs to be considered?

A gas consisting primarily of methane. It is found associated with fossil fuels, in coal beds, as methane clathrates, and is created by methanogenic organisms in marshes, bogs, and landfills. It is an important fuel source, a major feedstock for fertilizers, and a potent greenhouse gas. Natural gas is commercially produced from oil fields and natural gas fields. Gas produced from oil wells is called casinghead gas or associated gas. Natural gas is often informally referred to as simply gas, especially when compared to other energy sources such as electricity. Before natural gas can be used as a fuel, it must undergo extensive processing to remove almost all materials other than methane. The by-products of that processing include ethane, propane, butanes, pentanes and higher molecular weight hydrocarbons, elemental sulfur, and sometimes helium and nitrogen.
