I work for a strategy consulting firm that is looking to help our client better understand the use of screw pumps, a type of positive displacement pump (pd pump), in the oil & gas and chemical industry. I would like to speak to someone with an engineering or operational background (chemical engineer, process engineer, rotating equipment specialist, maintenance supervisor, plant manager) that could help us understand any of the following questions:
when and why are screw pumps specified?
Who is responsible for selecting a brand of screw pumps?
What applications within oil & gas (upstream, midstream, downstream, pipeline, refinery, terminal) or within the chemical industry (polymers, pvc, nylon, petrochemicals, paints & coatings) are screw pumps used for?
Are screw pumps becoming more or less competitive relative to other pd pumping technologies, e.G. Gear pumps?
Familiarity with either the north american or middle eastern market is preferable.+2 Other Responses
Home Infusion Pump
We are a global consulting firm that is currently researching the the cost and expenses of their external infusion pump with a competitor product- elastomeric pump, which are used in home-based care. They hypothesize that that since the elastomeric pump (attached) needs to be changed 2-3 times a day, its daily expense would be higher (even though the unit cost is lower) than that of external infusion pump, which is changed once daily.

could you please provide me with a quote for finding the hcspcs and cpt codes for the two devices at the state level for each state/ medicare administrative contractor? We are looking for codes specific to the two pumps only and not additional supplies like tubing, etc.
This project will likely consist of a report/list of the codes, and a 1 hour phone consultation to go over the report.

currently, i am working on a project devising the sourcing strategies of pumps such as centrifugal, volumetric pumps and vacuum pumps for the chemical industry. I have information on the global pump market growth rate and top global pump suppliers
focus area: to find how do global chemical/cpg companies engage with global pump suppliers in the european region on the aspects of maintenance and spare parts.
Expertise required on:
1.Global pump industry structure for these pumps
2.Sourcing models adopted by chemical industry players
3.Contract models adopted by chemical/cpg industry players with global pump manufacturers for maintenance and after sales service capability in the european region?
4.Maintenance services and spare parts management of pumps, especially consignment stock facilities provided by pump manufacturers in the european region for chemical companies.
5.What should be the kpis which the buyer needs to focus on while engaging with pump manufacturers who have maintenance and after sales service capability?
6.How can buyers leverage consignment stock option and what are the risks associated with it?
Case studies (both failure & success) which support the above questions will also be of great use for my analysis.
Kindly let us know if you could help me in this project.+12 Other Responses
Rotary Positive Displacement Pump
We are looking for a positive displacement pump expert. We are looking for help in the following areas:
1) pressure balancing of bearings in pressure loaded gear pump. (3,000 psi discharge)
2) design mods that allow a gear pump to be used as a gear motor.
3) advantages/disadvantages of a gear pump/motor vs. A piston pump/motor in high rpm and cold start (-40f) application.
The ideal expert must have experience designing high pressure gear pumps in the aerospace industry. Also it would be great if the expert has experience designing piston pumps as well.+2 Other Responses
