Solar farms from a venture between british solar renewables ltd. And banco santander sa. (san) the photovoltaic farms total 56.6 megawatts of generation capacity and are valued at 73.7 million pounds ($124 million), the group said today in an e-mailed statement. The final amount to be paid depends on the performance of the plants, it said. “these three large scale solar projects nearly double the generating capacity of trig’s solar pv portfolio,” said richard crawford, a partner at the group’s investment manager infrared capital partners. The three sites are a 24.2-megawatt plant at parley court farm, dorset, a 21.2-megawatt plant at egmere airfield, norfolk and an 11.1-megawatt project at penare farm, cornwall. All three were built by spain’s grupo isolux corsan sa, which will continue to operate and maintain them. Their panels are all from renesola ltd. Solar Panel

Hi zintro expert, the zintro blog needs you! we are looking for expert opinions on the news mentioned below and would like to hear from you within the next couple of days. While we'd love your thoughts, we realize that your time is valuable, so here are a couple of things you need to know before deciding whether or not to participate: replies should be brief about 1-2 paragraphs and include your full name participation is voluntary no payment will be involved if chosen, you'll be named in the post and we'll include a link to your zintro profile which will generate more visitors for you wondering what the post would look like? Here is a sample: http://blog.Zintro.Com/2012/01/16/keystone-xl-pipeline-pros-and-cons/ here's the topic on which we'â™d love your thoughts: first solar, the largest u.S. Solar-panel maker, is boosting its efforts to install systems at industrial sites and warehouses as utilities demand smaller solar farms. Pursuing smaller projects and customer-sited systems may increase sales as much as 36 percent over the next three years, chief executive officer jim hughes said at an analyst event in new york yesterday. The company got 65 percent of its 2013 sales from selling large solar farms to utilities, a market that's slowing in the u.S. As power companies meet state requirements and don't need to buy more solar energy. Hughes is seeking deals in other regions including saudi arabia, india and south america, and also expects higher demand in the u.S. From commercial and industrial rooftops. What are your thoughts about first solar's efforts? Getting your name and expert opinion published on our blog is a great marketing opportunity. If interested, please send us your response via znotes within a couple of days. Don't forget to include your full name. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you! the zintro blog team

also known as Solar thermal energy (STE) is a technology for harnessing solar energy for thermal energy (heat). Solar thermal collectors are defined as low-, medium-, or high-temperature collectors. Low temperature collectors are flat plates generally used to heat swimming pools. Medium-temperature collectors are also usually flat plates but are used for creating hot water for residential and commercial use. High temperature collectors concentrate sunlight using mirrors or lenses and are generally used for electric power production. STE is different from photovoltaics, which convert solar energy directly into electricity.
