Agricultural Supply Chain
Transportation and storage expert (international consultant) for an
agricultural supply chain project implemented by hortex foundation, an autonomous body engaged in agricultural activities, set up by the world bank, in bangladesh.
The project aims to ensure participation of small and marginal farmers and agri-business enterprises in improving the supply chain and value chain management of selected high-value agricultural commodities for primarily domestic markets in bangladesh.

postgraduate degree in agricultural engineering/ food technology/ post-harvest technology or relevant field with at least 10 years progressively responsible professional work experience in the field of inland transportation and storage of horticultural commodities. Phd in the above field is preferred. He/she should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain management requirement and techniques (need assessment, source identification, procurement, inland freight procedure, customer, warehousing, distribution, monitoring/accountability). Background has to linking, small producer groups to affordable storage and transport opportunities. Working experience in the relevant field at south asian countries will be additional qualifications. Must be a dynamic person with proven experience in post-harvest handling, packaging, transportation and storage of high value horticultural commodities. Must be strong in english and should be computer literate.

ii. Recommendation on strategy/mechanism of low cost/cost effective inland transportation and storage of small holders groups’ high value horticultural produces
