Textile Weaving

We are thermoforming parts using a matched die setup out of a rubber coated cotton/ polyester composite impregnated with phenolic. We are seeing some damage of the cloth/ coating during the forming process. We would like to understand what role the weaving process plays in our forming operation. In particular, how can the tension during weaving impact our force vs deflection curves and how might we tune the process to give our desired results? How can we properly model the cloth (what parameters are needed) to predict forming strains to reduce experiment/ processing time?

Food Packaging

Hi zintro expert, the zintro blog needs you! we are looking for expert opinions on the news mentioned below and would like to include your point of view. We realize your time is valuable, so here is a brief summary of what we are looking for: *a brief answer to the prompt about 1-2 paragraphs including your full name *participation is voluntary no payment will be involved *if chosen, you will be named in the post and we'll include a link to your zintro profile which will generate more visitors for you topic and prompt opening food packaging is a seemingly simple task. Not so for the elderly, disabled or those who suffer from arthritis. This concern formed the basis of a kamo high school student-led investigation with whangarei mp dr shane reti, who is the parliamentary facilitator for arthritis new zealand. The students, who acknowledged the importance of their study given our ageing population, measured the tear force needed to open a range of packaging using a device designed by busck prestressed concrete's rodney white. They found food packing which is easy to open tears at a force of three newtons. They will be taking their findings to the industry to see whether they can find workable solutions. Reti says the manufacturing industry is interested. What are your thoughts about the project? Getting your name and expert opinion published on our blog is a great marketing opportunity. If interested, please send a response to the prompt via znotes within 1-2 days. Don't forget to include your full name. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you! the zintro blog team wondering what the post would look like? Here is a sample: http://blog.Zintro.Com/2014/08/14/rosetta-completes-10-year-trip-deep-space />
