Gps Tracking

Hello i've been trying to solve a problem for a while and i think the best person that can help me is an rf engineer. Or a person that has a good understanding of tracking devices and femtocells. I'm trying to find a hidden tracking device on my vehicle. I want to be able to get it's gps coordinates and know exactly where it is. I would like to use a device that can first force the tracking device to connect to it. Then after the tracking device connects, i want to find it's coordinates. I'm trying to find out if a femtocell has these capabilities. If not i need to find another device that can do that. Can you help me? Can a femtocell have a tracking device connect to it and get it's gps coordinates? Thank you in advance, i appreciate your expertise!!! are all tracking devices based on a cellular network (cdma, gsm, etc)?
