Wind Energy

I am working on a new show for channel 4 that is called the acid test. This is a show hosted by richard bacon live in a studio with a co presenter called rachel riley and we aim to make it the most interactive show on uk tv. We are going to look at topical and cutting edge technologies from products that can help you in the home, engineering to ground breaking medical science, discuss them and trail them in innovative, informative and entertaining manner. I am looking for an “expert” on wind power to join us on a boat around thanet wind farm on friday afternoon (15:00 – 17:00). What we hope to get out of the iv is a really good, strong and positive angle on wind power and why it holds the potential be to our main energy power of the future. Richard bacon will be putting the questions forward and he will do so fairly sternly. The expert will have been given a handful of negatives surrounding wind power and we hope that the expert will simply brush them away and convince him wind power is a completely positive step in the right direction.

Wind Energy Industry

I am oliver bayani, a writer from ecoseed. I would like to get your market opinion on the potentials of brazil's wind energy industry. The country last year had a total generated capacity of 931 megawatts from its wind turbine installations, and wind turbine companies have been recently making deals on constructing wind farms in the country. Would brazil's wind energy industry be as competitive like those in the european countries? Offered comments would be incorporated into an article with accreditation for the quote. Thank you!

Wind Turbine Design

In water turbine design a dimensionless number defines the shape of the turbine wheel or rotor or whatever it is called. For high numbers it starts with the 3 bladed kaplan wheel, then 4, 5, 6 to 8 blades, then it goes to the francis turbine and reaches the pelton wheel. Has there been something similar in the wind turbine industry? I visited the wind power expo and had some interesting discussions why are practically all wind turbines 3 bladed? Is it because with wind we do not have that high head available and we are at the bottom end, that is 2 or 3 bladed range. Yet, i like to look at wind turbines, vertical that could look more like a francis turbine.

Wind Energy

Wind turbine manufacturing and wind farm construction we are an egyptian green energy a newly established company our project is going through 2 stages the first stage will be manufacturing the wind turbine second stage is to install the wind turbine into a wind farm. Wind technology, the production line, the management will be through a union of american and french companies our factory will be mobile, fully automated, can produce onshore, and offshore wind turbine, also can produce either small or huge wind turbines. Our target is to produce 2000 turbines of the 10mw/ h during one year. It is a huge project as we believe we will depend on100% leasing module in financing the project. Now we are forming our board experts members, and the supporting consultant teams. We had an agreement with some famous and with good reputation experts in more than one specialty. Negotiations are still running with others. Also we hope if we can join foreigner experts in different aspects that may benefit the project such as experts in different wind energy aspects, financing solution, legal aspects, marketing, management, and planning. Our experts will be paid through a percentage of the net profit our project value evaluation may be as much as 4-5 billion dollars. What we need from our experts? 1- we need to assess the best sites to start our wind farm either onshore or offshore. 2-doing the complete feasibility study of the whole project. 3-choosing the best wind turbine or turbines that should be produced in our factory? 4- marketing research 5- financial solutions 6- others if you feel it is a challenging project and suits you please contact us. Best regards, sameh

Wind Turbine Blade

Hello, i am a energy commerce major at texas tech university. I do not pretend to know the all the engineering thats goes into commercial windmills, but i had an idea for home windmills. I understand that commercial windmill blades are made out of carbon fiber because of its strength and light weight. I do believe this is where much of the cost of commercial windmills is incurred. I am proposing that home turbine blades can be made using thin aluminum metal and forming a hollow structure that can be pressurized with helium of the inside. The helium pressure gives the thin aluminum more strength and decreases it weight. It has been a while since a have taken chemistry so i'm not sure if the helium would diffuse through the aluminum or not my guess would be it would eventually. Therefore the inside of the blade would have to be coated with latex or something. Is this a dumb idea or could this possibly work?
