Dr. Awosika-Olumo is the President of Global Health Management and Informatics (GHMI). An independent firm, striving to provide expert health management research and informatics consulting services to meet the exact needs of every client, to address global challenges such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, emergency and refugee health, non-communicable diseases, injuries, and more. Public health expert with international public health and informatics experience and public health consultant to various international agencies public health projects. Prior to taking this current position, he was the chief epidemiologist of the city of Houston, Texas in US. The 4th largest city in the United States, where he implemented an integrated disease surveillance system, the system he implemented with the support of Consilience Software is being used by large cities in US with minor configuration and customization to fit perfectly well to their workflows. Over 27 years of public health communicable and non-communicable disease programs development and management. Over 20 years of professional experience as technical adviser in projects, in support of health policy design and/or health policy implementation in US and Africa. Over 10 years’ experience in HIV/AIDS prevention and control programs development and management, and over 10 years of professional experience leading the management and implementation of integrated disease surveillance systems (ICT) for HIV/AIDS and other communicable and non-communicable diseases and injuries.
