I have been in the online gaming industry, (casino and poker) since 1997 when I founded OmniCasino and SunPoker(2001). I do not have any business degrees, in fact I did not attend college, but I do have 13 years of experience in understanding the demographics and pshycographics of gamblers from all over the world.

If you are thinking about getting into this industry, it's important that you understand the psychology of a gambler, and the distinct differences between Sports Bettors, casino gamblers, poker players, (and the 5 individual classes of poker players). I know why players play, when they are more likely to play, what promotions they will and will not respond to, and I have in depth detailed information as to the player values from different regions of the world.

I have used all this knowledge that I've learned over the years to turn it into a run of 35 consecutive quarters with profitability (Q1 1998 through Q3 2006), until the US passed the UIGEA and we lost 85% of our business overnight because the company that we licensed the software from was a publicly traded company, and they pulled out of the US market immediately. (That's a whole other story, i.e. the legal aspect of things in the US with relation to online gambling, and while I am not an attorney, I have paid enough in legal fees to offer a knowledgeable opinion, but it would NOT be a legal opinion)

I digress... The company shifted its focus overseas to Europe, and by Q2 of 2007 was once again profitable. I have since sold the company, but being too young to retire, I was asked by a upstart gaming company to consult for them, so I agreed and have been having fun helping their company grow.
