Evaluating Software Automation

A Palo Alto-based VC firm was evaluating a software company that creates manufacturing automation tools, with most of the company's clients located in Germany and Western Europe.

At the outset of the project, the VC firm was using two other networks in order to find 10–15 experts (clients, exclients, evaluators that went with alternative solutions, exemployees, and a market opinion leader) to help satisfy their queries and get a 360-degree view of the industry.

Process

Zintro used its network and multiple alternative channels to find experts that would help the client truly understand the requested niche industry. The two Project Leads reviewed each individual and screened them to ensure only relevant profiles. Zintro presented 18 of the best potential experts for the clients and withheld the others. The client was able to review each expert's experiences, familiarity with the software and rivaling tools, personal beliefs about future trends, and more before selecting whom they wanted to interview.

Zintro handled NDA administration and collections, compliance reviews, and background checks. Lastly, Zintro was able to use a partner service to handle live translation and transcripts of the calls with German speakers

Results

The VC firm reviewed the experts shared by all three networks and ended up choosing 16 to interview, with 11 coming from Zintro. The client later shared they enjoyed seeing an overlap between the networks and found the cost-per-interview difference "shocking."

In a post-project call, the client shared that their most valuable insights came from two German-speaking information technologists that used the service they interviewed through Zintro with the help of a translator.

Although this was the first project the VC completed with Zintro, they greatly appreciated the quick and sincere work, not having to sign up for an annual subscription with a large minimum, and that Zintro's calls were 45% cheaper than those sourced by other networks.
